Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about enquiries and quotations, delivery, export, bespoke mixes and our products.

Enquiries and quotations

How do I request a quote or information?

Through one of the forms on the website. Choose the one that fits your question:

You receive a quotation with price, lead time and terms. Once you accept, we confirm the delivery.

How do I get a price?

Through a tailored quotation. Prices depend on the product, packaging, volume, delivery location and, for export, the Incoterm. That is why we prepare a quotation for every enquiry, with the price, lead time and terms for your situation.

The more complete your enquiry, the sooner we can prepare a suitable quotation. Mention, for example, your crop or application, the packaging you need, the quantity and the delivery location.

Who do you supply?

We supply businesses only: growers, landscapers and grounds maintenance contractors, garden centres and retailers, resellers and importers, in the Netherlands and for export.

A company registration or VAT number is not required for an enquiry, but it helps us respond faster. For a quotation and delivery, we will ask for your full company details.

How quickly will I hear back?

You receive a confirmation by email straight after your enquiry. We reply as soon as possible on working days. In a hurry? Give us a call: you will find our number at the bottom of every page and on the contact page.

Delivery

What are the lead times?

Each packaging option on the product page shows an indicative lead time. The final lead time is stated in the quotation. We schedule bulk deliveries with you; for bespoke mixes and export, the schedule in the quotation applies.

How is bulk delivered and what do I need to arrange?

Bulk (loose bulk, big bags, big bales and crates) is delivered to site by lorry. Please provide:

  • a paved unloading area that a lorry can reach;
  • for loose bulk: enough room to tip, preferably under cover or with a way to cover it;
  • for big bags and crates: let us know whether a forklift or loader is available;
  • someone on site at delivery, or clear instructions in your enquiry.

Add any site details to your enquiry; if in doubt, we will contact you beforehand. Read more about on-site delivery.

What does delivery cost?

Transport costs depend on distance, volume and packaging, and are set out in the quotation. We combine several products into a single trip wherever possible.

Export

Do you supply outside the Netherlands?

Yes. For importers, distributors and large-volume buyers, we supply substrates and raw materials by the container (20ft, 40ft or 40ft HC) or by the pallet: as palletised bags, big bags or compressed big bales.

How much fits in a container depends on the product, packaging and weight. The load calculator on the export page gives an indication; the exact quantity is stated in the quotation. You can request an export quote on the same page.

Which Incoterms do you use?

EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF and DAP. Our default is FOB; in your enquiry you choose what works best for you. The agreed Incoterm is stated in the quotation. The export page gives a brief explanation of each Incoterm.

Which documents can you provide?

On request, we can supply the following documents:

  • a phytosanitary certificate;
  • a certificate of origin;
  • a certificate of analysis for the batch.

Which documents are needed depends on the destination country and the product. Tell us in your enquiry what you need; we agree in advance what is feasible. Please also check the import requirements for growing media and raw materials in your own country.

Bespoke and private label

Can I have my own mix made?

Yes. In the configurator you choose your crop, the raw materials and their ratio, the structure, the target pH and EC and the fertiliser. We check your recipe, advise where needed and send you a quotation. Prefer to talk it through first? Get in touch or request growing advice.

What is the minimum quantity for a bespoke mix?

A bespoke mix is produced specifically for you. The minimum quantity depends on the recipe and packaging and is stated in the quotation. For smaller quantities, we are happy to check whether a standard mix with a small adjustment will do.

Are the configurator values exact?

The configurator shows indicative values, calculated from the average properties of the raw materials. The actual values of a production batch may differ. We agree the final specifications with you in the quotation.

Can you supply bagged products under our own brand?

Private label is available on request for 20, 40 and 70-litre bags, by the pallet, in the Netherlands or for export. You choose the product, bag size and artwork; we agree the product information on the bag with you. Minimum print run, print options and lead time vary by bag size and product and are set out in the quotation.

Choose Private label as the subject in the contact form.

Products and quality

What is the difference between peat-based, peat-reduced and peat-free?
  • Peat-based: peat is the main component, more than half of the volume.
  • Peat-reduced: no more than half is peat; the rest is made up of alternatives such as coir, wood fibre or bark.
  • Peat-free: contains no peat.

There is no legal definition; these are the criteria we use. Every product lists its exact composition by volume. For more on making the switch, read Peat-free and peat-reduced growing.

How should I store potting mix and substrate?

Store bags dry, sealed and out of direct sun. Cover loose bulk against rain and drying out. Fertilised substrates do not keep indefinitely: pH and EC can change over time, especially in warm conditions. Use them preferably within a few months and, if in doubt, check pH and EC before potting. Unfertilised raw materials are less sensitive, provided they are stored dry and covered.

How is quality checked?

Production batches are checked in the laboratory for pH, EC and uniformity, among other things. Every product lists its composition and indicative values, which you will also find on the printable datasheet.

Want certainty about a batch supplied, or about substrate already in your crop? Request a certificate of analysis or a substrate analysis. More on our Quality page.

Are your products RHP certified?

We confirm the RHP status of each product on request. Mention it in your enquiry and we will include it in our reply.
