DH Coir Pro Peat-Free
Fully peat-free substrate based on fine and coarse coir.
- Product name
- DH Coir Pro Peat-Free
- Product code
- DH-POT-003
- Category
- Potting mixes & substrates
- Peat status
- Peat-free
Description
A peat-free substrate in which coir does the work. Fine coir holds water and quickly takes it up again after drying out; coarse coir fibre keeps the structure open and prevents slumping. Wood fibre and perlite make the mix light and free-draining.
The coir is washed and buffered before it is mixed in, so that sodium and potassium do not upset the nutrition. Growing peat-free does call for a different approach to irrigation and feeding; our knowledge base explains what to look out for.
- 75% coir (fine and coarse), 15% wood fibre, 10% perlite
